TOEFL

TOEFL (Test of English As a Foreign Language) is a precious test highlighting the student’s proficiency in English living in a Non-English speaking country. Students aspiring to study abroad appear in the Expert TOEFL Coaching test to get admission to University/College/School in their designation country, e.g., UK, USA, etc. Worldwide, with about 10,000+ universities in more than 130 countries, the test is conducted and valued at a high scale. Structure of the TOEFL

TOEFL test assesses the student’s excellence in the following skills- Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. The test lasts for 4 to 4.5 hours, amid a 10-minute break is provided. Let’s have a look at the varying Test Modules of TOEFL-

Reading: The test comprises of 36 to 56 questions in which students are required to read 3 to 4 passages and then asked a few questions from these paragraphs. Students try to answer them all based on their reading and understanding.

Listening: This portion of the test comprises 34 to 51 questions in which students listen to lectures and become a part of the discussion. Students are required to hear every line carefully to be answerable for such questions.

Writing: Students write an essay on a prescribed topic in this test. Though, the test is generally linked with the listening and reading module.

Speaking: Students give a speech on the prescribed topic in this test.

Scoring Pattern

Each TOEFL test module comprises of maximum 30 marks; it will be a total of 120 marks test. Hence, students are required to score between 0 to 120 marks. The score you obtain in the TOEFL test is valid for up to two years.

The average score for admission in the undergraduate and postgraduate courses are as follows-

  • For the admission in Undergraduate courses: the score varies from 68 to 80.
  • For the admission in Postgraduate courses: the score varies from 79 to 95.
